Brief description and main aimsThe day-care centre wants to offer the children the possibility to grow up in nature so that they learn to respect it and be more creative. Day-care centre for children between the age of 3 months to 7 years. Bigger children are almost always in the forest (“Wald” means forest) or in very bad weather in a scout’s house. Small children stay in a house with garden |
Volunteer tasksThe volunteer works together with the regular staff in child caring. The tasks are such as telling stories, singing with the children, working with wood, taking care of the babies, changing diapers, brush teeth, helping with meetings of the parents, helping with household tasks and gardening, preparing meals and helping to cook on the fire in the forest. Most of the work takes place in the forest. |
Volunteer requirements / SkillsThe volunteer is interested in nature and likes to be outside, especially in the forest, at every season of the year. He/she likes to work with children and likes to sing and talk with them. The project requires good social skills and the will to learn. The volunteer has to be interested in learning German. An additional language course is offered by the project. He/she shouldn’t mind to do household and garden work. It is an advantage if the volunteer is able to ride a bike. |
